FAQ
Ages
KIDS: The student should be serious about singing, able to pay attention for the full lesson, and practice between lessons.
TEENS: This is an ideal age to start serious classical training, if that's the style you prefer.
ADULTS serious about learning to sing are welcome!
Genres
Classical technique and style is Susanna's specialty (Art Songs, Opera, Etc). This technique is incredibly beneficial across most other styles, particularly Musical Theater & also contemporary, pop, jazz, country.
Most successful singers of Musical Theater, jazz, or any other belting style, like pop, have foundational training in classical singing.

What You'll Need
A common concern for online voice lessons is what kind of equipment you will need for the lesson. The short answer is, just a smartphone/ipad/computer and a good internet or cellular connection. The long answer is, you'll get out what you put into it; the more you invest in your online lessons on your side, the more you will get out of those lessons. The better I can hear you and see you, the better I can advise you. A good webcam with a wide lens so I can see your whole body while singing helps. A good to fantastic mic that doesn't compress the music is really going to make a difference. A floor-length mirror in the room is great. A piano, even a small digital one, will also make a huge difference. And a music stand is lovely. However, even without any of that we can make good progress in our online lessons. On my side, I typically have a nice webcam and mic set up and a piano nearby.
VOICE METHOD
Susanna teaches voice in the "bel canto" Italian style with an emphasis on not only a powerful, strong vocal presence but a beautiful tone, exquisite musical lines, and a relaxed, open and effortless sound.

How Online Voice Lessons Work
For your first voice lesson, you can expect Susanna to spend some time getting to know you and your goals. Next, Susanna will tailor the remaining time to your needs.
If you are a beginner, she will start with teaching you some voice exercises, teach you about voice technique foundations--such as breathing--and then spending the last half of the lesson on selecting and singing through a song. If you have a song prepared for the lesson, she may have you start with your song instead. New repertoire will be selected at the end of the lesson.
If you have had lessons before, Susanna will spend some time in your first voice lesson getting to know your voice and level. She will ask you to first sing a piece of repertoire you know well, and then to hear some vocal exercises you like. From there, she will introduce new vocal techniques or work on solidifying existing your techniques. New repertoire may be selected, but not aways.
