Ms. Barasch has performed throughout the United States and Italy as a professional operatic soprano and is the creator of the podcast Hello Figaro and President of a prominent music school overseeing hundreds of students, M Institute for the Arts, formerly in Washington, DC and now online worldwide. Ms. Barasch holds BA in Music from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Her most influential artistic mentors include Joan Patenaude-Yarnell, Virginia Zeani, and Tzvetan Konstantinov. Ms. Barasch also holds teaching studios in New York City, Northern Florida and online. Many of her students have placed with high honors at the Royal College of Music's ABRSM exams and NATS. Ms. Barasch is the Founder & Creator of Hello Figaro, an arts and cultural content & media company, as well as Founder & CEO of M Institute for the Arts, formerly the second-largest community music school in Washington, DC, and since the pandemic, an online-only music school, hosting one of the most prominent pre-professional classical voice festivals of the pandemic, the New Era Voice Festival, which was featured in OperaWire and the Georgetowner...

Ages

KIDS should be serious about singing, able to pay attention for the full lesson, and practice between lessons.

TEENS is an ideal age to start serious classical training.

ADULTS serious about learning to sing or looking to improve their existing technique are welcome!

Genres

Classical technique in the Italian bel canto style is Susanna's specialty (Art Songs, Opera, Etc). This technique is incredibly beneficial across most other styles, particularly Musical Theater.

Levels

I'm is very happy to teach you no matter your level. What's important whether a student serious about learning bel canto style singing and committed to lessons and practicing. Taking your voice to a more advanced level is why you're taking lessons, so wherever you are on your vocal journey, I'm here to help.

VOICE METHOD

Susanna teaches voice in the "bel canto" Italian style with an emphasis on not only a powerful, strong vocal presence but a beautiful tone, exquisite musical lines, and a relaxed, open and effortless sound.
